Wil je een auto huren in Nederland? Ga je bijvoorbeeld een weekje weg of ga je verhuizen, dan is het handig om te weten waar je op moet letten. Adrem heeft een aantal tips opgesteld waar jij op kan letten wanneer je een auto huurt, ophaalt of wanneer je deze weer inlevert.
Tip 1 zorg dat je weet welke eisen je stelt aan het huren van een auto
Voor je een auto gaat reserveren, vergelijk dan goed bij verschillende verhuurders. Vaak is het zo dat auto’s in klassen verdeeld worden. Zo kan het zijn dat je toch een andere auto krijgt dan op de foto staat. Denk ook na of er andere personen in de auto zullen rijden. Het is namelijk zo dat hier ook extra kosten aan verbonden zijn. Heb je dus speciale wensen, geef dit dan ook aan bij het reserveren.
Tip 2 heb je die extra verzekering nodig?
Let goed op aanvullende verzekeringen die in de huurprijs zitten, of er juist bovenop komen. Vaak zit de basisverzekering er al inbegrepen, maar een verhuurder biedt nog tal van andere opties. Denk hierbij aan het afkopen van je eigen risico, een verzekering voor banden of ruiten etc. Hierbij is het van belang dat je een afweging maakt of deze wel benodigd zijn.
Tip 3 voorwaarden
Een verhuurder zal altijd voorwaarden stellen aan het verhuren van een auto. Zo kan een verhuurder een minimumleeftijd stellen of een minimum aantal jaren dat jij in bezit van je rijbewijs moet zijn. Het kan ook zijn dat je een hoger tarief betaald wanneer je jonger of onervaren bent. Let verder ook goed op wanneer en hoe je moet betalen. Wordt er een borg gevraagd? Vaak moet je dan betalen met een creditcard. En als laatste is het belangrijk om de algemene voorwaarden goed door te lezen. Hierin staat wat je rechten en plichten zijn.
Tip 4 let goed op als je de auto ophaalt
Heb je de auto gereserveerd en ga je deze ophalen? Zorg dan dat je alle benodigde papieren en documenten meeneemt. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan je identiteitskaart, rijbewijs, creditcard, reserveringspapieren en eventuele documenten van overige bestuurders.
Heb je al het papierwerk afgehandeld? Controleer de auto dan beschadigingen, krassen of deuken. Mochten deze aanwezig zijn en niet geregistreerd zijn, laat dit dan noteren zodat je hier bij het inleveren geen problemen over ontstaan. Wanneer je weg rijdt, zorg er dan voor dat je nog het noodnummer hebt.
Tip 5 gebeurt er iets tijdens het huren?
Gebeurt er iets met de auto tijdens het huren? Of lukt het niet om de auto op het afgesproken moment terug te brengen? Neem dan direct contact op met de verhuurder om te bespreken wat je het beste kunt doen.
Tip 6 het inleveren van de auto
Is de huurperiode afgelopen? Kijk dan goed wat je afgesproken hebt omtrent het afleveren van de auto. Zorg dat je kiest voor de optie dat je de auto volgetankt aflevert. Indien je de auto inlevert zonder volle tank, zal je duurder uit zijn.
Controleer verder samen met de verhuurder of er geen beschadigingen aan de auto zijn. Zijn er beschadigingen of juist niet, laat dit dan noteren zodat jij hier achteraf niet op aangesproken kan worden.
Tip 7 afrekening
Je hebt de auto ingeleverd, nu is het tijd om af te rekenen. Zorg dat je de rekening goed controleert. Aan het begin van de huur, heb je de borg betaald. Deze krijg je nu terug na aftrek van de kosten. Controleer dus goed of de berekening van de kosten klopt.
Tip 8 huur buiten het vliegveld
Mocht je met het vliegtuig op vakantie gaan en vervolgens een auto willen huren, zorg dan dat je buiten het vliegveld een autoverhuurder zoekt. Uit onderzoek blijkt namelijk dat het huren van een auto op het vliegveld 10 tot 20% duurder kan zijn.
